Percentage of DNA methylation (5mC; a) and hydroxymethylation (5hmC; b) in neonatal pig frontal cortex after post-mortem delays to freezing. In general, 5mC levels are higher than 5hmC levels. Temporal analysis shows no significant difference between the 0 and 72-h time points for pigs raised in normoxic (n = 4) and hypoxic (n = 3) conditions. Although the global 5mC and 5hmC levels tended to be higher in hypoxic pig brains, the change was not statistically significant (ANOVA with Dunnett’s post hoc, p < 0.05)
