From: HTRA1 methylation in peripheral blood as a potential marker for the preclinical detection of stroke: a case–control study and a prospective nested case–control study

Fig. 1

Onset-time-dependent association between HTRA1 methylation and stroke in the prospective nested case–control study. The analysis was performed for stroke cases with onset time A < 2 years, B ≤ 1.5 years, C ≤ 1.32 years, and D ≤ 1 year. The P values of all the 17 measureable CpG loci in the HTRA1-A and HTRA1-B amplicons were calculated by logistic regression adjusting for age, sex, smoking, drinking, hypertension, diabetes, TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C, and all the P values were transformed by -log10. The dotted lines indicate the thresholds of different P values of 0.05. E and F The OR per + 10% methylation of HTRA1_A_CpG_6 and CpG_3.4, CpG_5, CpG_7, CpG_8.9, CpG_10, CpG_11.12 as well as CpG_13.14.15 in the HTRA1-B amplicon in stroke cases with onset time < 2 years, ≤ 1.5 years, ≤ 1.32 years and ≤ 1 year based on logistic regression analysis adjusting for age, sex, smoking, drinking, hypertension, diabetes, TC, TG, HDL-C and LDL-C
