Heatmap of differently methylated CpG sites of tumor and normal tissue of GC patients. Tumors and adjacent non-tumor tissues of 16 GCs, including four patients in each TNM stage, were epigenotyped and analyzed using the Illumina methylation EPIC BeadChip assay. The red color represents the hypermethylated genes, while the blue color indicates the hypomethylated genes. Based on 2180 CpG sites, the methylation patterns of most tumor tissues were hypermethylated, while hypomethylation patterns were observed in most normal tissues.
